AtariNights respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your options.
What We Collect
When you submit a venue or event: we collect your name, your email address, and the venue or event details you provide. Your own name and email are used only to verify your submission and to follow up with questions, and they are never shown on the site. Business details you submit about a venue or event (such as its address, phone number, website, or public contact email) are published as part of the listing.
When you browse the site: our hosting provider (WordPress.com / Automattic) collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes. We do not use these logs for marketing.
Cookies: the site uses a small number of functional cookies (for things like remembering your map preferences) Google Analytics cookies to measure site traffic (see Analytics below), and Google advertising cookies used to serve ads (see Advertising below).
Analytics
AtariNights uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information like your browser type, device, general location (city level), and the pages you visit. We do not collect your name or email through analytics, and we do not sell visitor data. You can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser with Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google’s own use of this data is covered by its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Advertising
AtariNights displays ads served by Google AdSense, which helps keep the directory free. Google and its third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
What We Don’t Do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not publish the name or email of the person who submitted a listing.
- We do not run advertising trackers other than Google AdSense, described under Advertising above.
- We do not share your email with venue owners or third parties.
Third Parties
Maps on the site use Leaflet.js with map tiles from CARTO, built on OpenStreetMap data. When you view a page with a map, your browser requests those tiles directly from CARTO, and their privacy policy applies to that interaction.
The site is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic). Their privacy policy governs server-level data handling.
Your Rights
You can request that we delete any submission you made by contacting us through the Contact page. We will remove the submission and any associated email/name within 7 days.
Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and adjust the date at the top. We won’t make material changes without good reason.
